Sum of Us Pop-Up Exhibition
Los Angeles, CA
2016
This pop-up exhibition explores lenticular effects to present the work of four photographers on a single subject: immigrant identity. The lenticular treatment is multifunctional in that it acts to provide tectonic rigidity to the surface, enabling it to hold itself up. It also presents an opportunity to display two images per side, allowing multiple readings depending on one's angle of view. As the viewer moves around the articulated surface, photographic images come into line and fray, serving as an apt metaphor for the immigrant experience and the changing notions of identity that go along with it.
